Stamp Love

Happy Friday uncrafters! This week has totally blown by, and I'm glad.  Two midterms and a paper, yikes! Plus, it's getting to be the time when all my friends are finishing up their school year...and I've still got over a month to go.  It really makes me want to cry.

I thought I would share something I've really been getting into lately: stamps! Usually when I think of stamps I think of cheesy, happy smiley faces and A+'s put on my homework when I was little.  But these beautiful stamps will change your mind! I can't wait until I actually NEED one of these.

Here are the links to these artists' fabulous sites: Antiquaria, NoteTrunkMolly Jacques, and FeastMade
Seriously.  I want ALL of them.  You'll find that they range in price, but that most are pretty afforadable (and worth it if you ask me)!  Have a happy weekend, uncrafters. :) xoxo

Colorful Chicago Engagement Session

Happy Wednesday uncrafters! I hope you're still enjoying your week despite the grossness that's going on outside (at least in Chicago).  I know my hair isn't handling it well.

I've got a SUPER fun and colorful engagement session by DwJohnson Studio, located right next to my hometown, for you today.  This couple is totally cool (not to mention attractive) and knows how to have some fun.  And that ring shot? Gorgeous!!  I think this would just be a blast to do.

I can't tell you how much I love engagement shoots that capture the couple in action--just having fun and being themselves.  None of that posey, fake stuff! , I can't help thinking, however, how did it not get all over their teeth? Hah. And uncrafters, this would be a great route to go if you want something to brighten up your e-session.  You literally just throw stuff at each other! It's great.

Let me know what you think in the comments, and have a great Wednesday! xoxo

My Obsession with Pink

Happy Monday uncrafters!

Although my blog may tell you otherwise, I've never been a huge fan of pink.  I wouldn't consider myself a typical girly-girl (although maybe I'm just in denial!) When I first started looking at wedding blogs, I was firmly set on blue for my wedding.  Blue has always been my favorite color, because one, it's pretty, and two, it looks good with my skin tone.  Pink, not so much.

I always told myself I would never have a pink wedding.  Never!  Recently, however, I've found myself uncontrollably pinning blush, coral, and peach like you wouldn't believe.  I can't deny that I think any pink wedding is just gorgeous...and I may be rethinking my old tendencies.  And I'm okay with it. :)

Here's some of very favorite pink elements for you! I think you'll love these ideas:

You GUYS.  I want this stuff in my life.  Fine, I like pink. ;)

Have a great Monday! xoxo

Handmade Engagement Shoot (With Puppies!)

Happy Friday uncrafters! This has been a super busy, super quick week for me, and I'm sure glad it's over.  BUT, I'm so happy to share this lovely engagement shoot from Lauren Frisch Photography!  This is what the Uncrafter is all about: super simple DIY elements that make a big statement but don't require crafting expertise! The leading lady of this shoot, Emily, made handmade elements with her mother.  They look super easy!

Also, puppies.  I may add a "puppies necessary" clause to my submission guidelines.  ;)

So cute! Have a great weekend, uncrafters! And don't forget to leave some comment love down below. :)

Handmade Garden-Themed Real Wedding

Happy Wednesday uncrafters!

I'm out of the midterm induced cloud (at least until next Tuesday) so it's back to blogging I go!  I've got a gorgeous wedding that Lauren D. Rogers Photography sent on over for you today.  The details are all handmade, and as cute as can be.  Dessert tables and hats for the flower girls are fine by me any day!

From the photographer:

"The groom, Jonathan, is an escapologist. For the uninitiated, that means he puts himself in terribly dangerous positions and tries to escape. Like Houdini. (www.jonathanescapes.com).  Once upon a time, as a little boy in Whales, he decided to be a great wizard when he grew up, and has been making magic ever since. He won me over the instant I found out he'd been part of Shark Week. Shark Week, y'all, trying to get the sharks to bite him. His lovely bride, Katy, is his partner both in life and in the world of show biz. Falling in love with her was the one thing he could not escape (and one you see how gorgeous she is, you know why.) Truly a jet-setting couple, making their home alternately in London and California, the couple opted for a simple garden ceremony at the bride's parents' home in Richmond, Virginia. Leading up to the big day and doing their best to plan long distance, much of the legwork was left to Katy's mother. Katy's parents did a beautiful job landscaping the back yard of their comfortable suburban home, transforming it into a colorful, flower-filled garden. Guests from both sides of the pond were treated to an outdoor ceremony with hay-bale seating; a cocktail hour served from terracotta pots; centerpieces of colorful wildflowers in mason jars; and string lights, mason jar candles, and a fire pit providing light as the sun set behind the house. The simplicity and intimacy were reflected in their bridal parties - with only one attendant each. Young guests were treated to a children's table of fancy hats and dress up articles to help keep them occupied while their parents enjoyed uncorked red wine at each table or visited the bar. After a hot-buffet dinner, a dessert table took the place of a traditional cake. Hollowed-out pumpkins with pansies planted inside carried the garden theme across the tablescapes."

These details honoring loved ones who have passed is such a great addition. Especially since there were many past wedding dresses and wedding day photos!

Instead of a cake, the bride and groom chose to have a full dessert bar complete with these cute ribbon-adorned cake pops.  The "naked" cake looks so yummy too!

How cute are these hats? The little flower girls wore these. So sweet!

The decor was handmade by the bride and her mother.  It's perfectly garden-themed, with the clay pots, green and white poms, butterflies, and flowers. This just shows that gorgeous weddings are completely in your reach even if you have a tight budget or minimal DIY skills!

PUPPIES!! That's all.

How gorgeous was this wedding?  I'm so incredibly glad I get to show you all this gorgeous new inspiration now. :) Have a great Wednesday, and come back here to check out an engagement session with great DIY details on Friday! xoxo
