Hey, guess what?! Valentine's Day is in 6 days. I love how the mention of those two words either makes a person want to barf all over everything or squeal with joy (interesting how the word barf made it into the V-Day post...). I'm still a little ambivalent about the whole thing myself. Yes, I have a boyfriend (hi Ryan! *cheesy wave to the camera*) and that certainly makes it easier to get through February 14th. But you know what? I'm not so sure the pressure of finding the perfect cutesy gift is worth it. The whole thing just stresses me out, to be quite honest. And the 16-year-old girl inside me who never had a significant other on V-Day still wants to DIE every time THAT girl writes "I loooooove you schmoopie!" on her guy's wall. You know that girl.
But I digress. Just because I don't know I feel about that certain day next week doesn't mean I can't get into the spirit of things with all the hearts and candy and pink and red, eh? Any day that results in me eating ridiculous amounts of candy can't be all bad, I guess. So here's some Valentine's inspiration that I LOVE, and I think you will too!
LOOK AT THESE. Just look at them. I lurve them. And they would be so easy to make! (Dare I say they are "uncrafty?" Teehee.) Very appropriate for a Galentine's Day (Leslie Knope, anyone?) partay.

And next, the cutest/easiest food to make EVER. Especially those pretzels. So freaking cute, I think I may spontaneously combust.

This here is a super easy milkglass DIY by Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events. She's got supercool style and super fun and easy DIYs on her blog. And she's a supercool blogger. (Can you tell I wuv her?) This milkglass/pink flower combo would look (hey) gorgeous on your V-Day tablescape. Directions found right here.
Now this is the easiest DIY of them all. Cut out some hearts (or get a heart paper punch, even easier!) and attach them to a string with a clothespin. Make the clothespins sparkly, change the string to ribbon or pretty fabric; there are so many ways you can make this to suit your personal style!
OH BOY. These printables from Anna and Blue Paperie are perfect as cupcake toppers or gift tags. And they're only $5 in their Etsy shop!
I've saved the best for last. I am OBSESSED with Sparrownestscript's cards. Her calligraphy is out of this world. There are tons of Valentine's cards (and cards for every other occasion) for sale in her Etsy shop!
Go forth and throw some awesome Valentine's Day soirees, uncrafters! Have a great Wednesday. <3

SO CUTE
ReplyDeleteI love all these ideas and wish I could add something super uncrafty (but yet, still crafty) to the blog world! BUT, instead, I just bought my hubby a card from PaperSource today. A cute card, nonetheless! Like you the pressure gets to me, and well, I guess there's always next year!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Rhiannon is the best, not to mention one of the nicest girls around :) And that Etsy shop is so adorable...thanks for sharing it! I would kill for gorgeous handwriting like that :P
ReplyDeleteI love all your pics.... it seems we have similar tastes.... but I haven't seen those amazing cards. I'm a self-professed stationery hoarder and I'll be heading there right now to check them out!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks for the sweet shout-out! I love all the DIY ideas too. xo
