This Ain't Your Mama's Photo Booth Folks: The Mammothbooth!

Happy happy Thursday uncrafters! Today's post may seem like your typical cheesy sponsored post--have no fear uncrafters, I wouldn't do that to your pretty faces!

Today I'm introducing you to a very cool new company and product that I genuinely believe in--the Mammothbooth! I've used it myself and love it.  This product is SO. MUCH. FUN. And it doesn't hurt that the masterminds behind it are some of the nicest people on this planet--they love what they do and put their heart and soul into their work, and it shows.

So here's what it is: a photobooth you can rent for weddings, parties, or a Friday night in (I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind...). I know, I know--you know what a photo booth is. But folks, this one is different.  Just take a look at these pictures...those dinky two-person booths got nothin' on the Mammothbooth!

Didn't I tell you?

So here's how it works:

1. You rent the Mammothbooth!, which serves Detroit and Chicagoland, but will travel anywhere! In their words, "We're pimpin' all over the world."

2. They set up the Mammothbooth! with any of their pre-made backdrops--or a custom backdrop! They'll go to any length to make sure your photo booth experience totally fits in with your wedding or party's feel and theme. Can you get that from a regular photo booth? Nope. Plus, they'll put your watermark on all the pictures for ya. Pretty cool.

3. You do your thing--pile as many guests as you can into the shot (which you can see on their high quality screen right in front of yo face), get your mustaches and chalkboards ready, press the button on the remote control and viola! You have a freaking awesome picture.

4. You can take as many pictures as you want. Seriously. And they're all available for download (free of charge!) the next day! SERIOUSLY. Having the Mammothbooth! at your wedding pretty much guarantees that every single guest's Facebook profile picture will be a Mammothbooth! pic.

Just one look at their website and you'll be able to tell just how cool (not to mention funny) these guys are. They were even nominated for an award for creating this masterpiece of a site. You better check it out {here}, tweet at them {here}, and like them {here}. And if you'd be so kind, take a minute to vote for them as best party rental in the Metro Detroit area {here}!

But really. If you do anything to make your life and your parties better today, let it be this. You can't not want something this fun at your next soiree!

Heh. I want to be friends with those people.

A Project is in the Works!

Happy Friday uncrafters! I just wanted to bring you into the know about some of the fun things I've got in store for the blog.  Some serious DIY is in the works, folks.  Here's the backstory: I've never been the type to put in the effort to make my own life prettier.  I'm not naturally inclined to break out the floral-y paper and scissors to make a plain notebook my own, or to make cute little decorations for my room.  I'm aiming to change that.  My goal is to make my room next year as pretty as possible.  Now, I've got two other roommates who probably won't be on board with my style, but I can make my own little corner gorgeous, right? I just feel happier when my environment is stylish, and I also want to do more work!  Here are some of my ideas so far (inspired by weddings, of course!):

I've always been a huge fan of weddings with handpainted signs in pretty fonts, like this one:

Isn't that just gorgeous? My color scheme will be a bit different, but I think you get what I'm going for with the signs.  This work of art will go on the wall next to my bed, in the form of one of my favorite quotes. Here was my first obstacle, though. I am NOT an artist, and my handwriting is awful, even when I try really hard.  So I had to find a way to paint my favorite fonts onto pieces of wood.  My thoughts right now are to use a projector...and I think it will work? Hopefully! If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know!

Here's my color scheme: light blush tones with a hint of sparkle, a little light gray, and pops of blue.  Muh faves.

That will take up the most of my DIY time.  I also fell in love with these blue painted vases from Lauren of Every Last Detail's styled shoot:

So I'm gonna make some of my own.  I'm also thinking of adding some flourishes like paper flowers and pretty ribbon and chiffon braids.  And of course, those will all be put up here for your crafting pleasure.  I haven't started any of it yet, but I'm excited.  I'm also a little afraid I won't be able to bring the visions in my head to life.  We shall see!

Happiness

Hiya!

Who besides me is so glad yesterday's heat wave is over? For those of you outside the midwest, it was over 100 degrees yesterday.  I like warm weather, but just walking from the car to Starbucks was unbearable (first world problems, I know--I'm rolling my eyes at myself).  In addition, I'm assisting at a wedding tomorrow with al fresco dining--the two do not mix!!

I'm writing about happiness today.  My happiness, specifically.  You guys, I seriously can't get over how much I'm loving my internship.  I walked out of the wedding I was assisting on Saturday so sweaty, legs burning from running up and down four flights of stairs all day, with a pounding headache, and I just wanted to get up the next morning and do it all over again.  I know that's how you're supposed to feel when you're working your dream job--or so I've been told.  But I really DID feel that way.  I still do.  I know tomorrow will be exhausting, mentally and physically, but I can't wait to get back to it.  I want to spend all my time researching Chicago vendors and learning more about wedding planning.  I want to be so productive working toward my future career every day that I'm exhausted when it comes time for bed. So I will. :)

By the way, I'm over feeling like I'm not good enough to do this job.  I'm going to work incredibly hard to get where I want to be, and that's that.  I know it will be difficult at times, but it will work out--it always does.  I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and I'll always be where and when I need to be.

I've got a couple projects in the works for my dorm room next year that I'll be sharing with you soon--and I'll show you the process step by step.  The Uncrafter needs to start living up to its name! xoxo

Green and Blue Real Wedding

Happy Wednesday uncrafters! I've got a gorgeous real wedding for you today from V.A. Photography.  Here's a little blurb from Ashley Link, the photographer:

"Blair and her bridesmaids spent a lot of time on the details to her special day. She had a LOT of DIY details incorporated into her wedding. She had painted mason jar centerpieces, handmade bouquets with charms and fabric, handmade boutonnieres, burlap table runners, burlap wreaths, a tree trunk seating chart, horseshoe table numbers, flower pots with muffins in them and heart shaped confetti which were also seeds for when the flower pot was empty."

Check it out (especially the detail on the fabric bouquets!):

I'm a Terrible Person

You guys.  I'm a TERRIBLE person.  I'm so, so bad.

I'll just preface this by saying I don't actually think I'm a terrible person.  I actually think I'm a pretty good person.  There's just one little thing that I haven't done in over a month (besides blogging).  I haven't been keeping up with ANY blogs! Not even my favorite ones!

Number one, I totally feel out of the loop.  I feel like I totally know what's up in the wedding world and in the lives of my blogger friends when I'm regularly reading blogs.  But that's totally gone out the window.  I feel so bad! I promise, I haven't stopped caring, I've just been super busy.  And a little bit lazy...  Reading through my list of favorite blogs is one of my favorite activities, I swear.

If I used to leave comments  on your blog all the time and I stopped, know that I'll be back very soon.  I miss your faces.  And if I've never left any comment love on yo blog, leave me a comment down below so I can check it out!! My second favorite activity after reading my favorite blogs is finding new favorites.

I also wanted to tell you all about a new community of bloggers I've joined.  It's called Being Greek, and it's a community for Greek bloggers (not the nationality, but the sorority kind).  Whitney of The Observant Turtle came up with this genius concept, and I couldn't be more happy that she did. It's great to see so many other current members and alum of Greek chapters in the blogosphere!

I'm the only Alpha Chi Omega on there so far--I'd love to meet more of you!! Until next time my friends...xoxo

Pink and Coral Real Wedding

Hola uncrafters! Happy Tuesday, y'all.  The space up above for the title was a little too small to fit the title I think it should have been, which is Pink and Coral Real Wedding AKA My Favorite Real Wedding So Far OMG it's Gorgeous and so Crafty.  Bycherry Photography did an awesome job with this California DIY wedding.  The day looks like it was just perfect, from the sunny weather to the cute, simple, homemade details. I could just go on and on about how awesome the detail shots are--but I'll let you look for yourself.

SO SO SO gorgeous, right? This is how you have a wedding, people.  I wuv it.

It feels so darn good to get back to blogging! Have a lovely Tuesday, uncrafters. xoxo
